Director of Web Services – PMI Central Florida Chapter (PMICFL)

Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President of Technology (VP of Technology) the Director of Web Services will develop, coordinate, and perform webpage maintenance, enhancement, design and content updates for the pmicfl.org website to ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) are posted regularly. Current website is a content management system (CMS) with customer relationship modules tied into PMI global.

The Director of Web Services will work closely with the VP of Technology, and PMICFL Board of Directors and Associates within the organization, as a partner, on a variety of strategic initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

Creates and maintains the framework for web page development, i.e. databases, content management, organization, web platforms and navigational structure.

Designs and/or maintains PMICFL’s web pages, and assists in the design and maintenance of web pages for individual departments and units. The design is achieved via CMS templates and extensive knowledge of coding is not required.

Processes, prepares, and posts digital media provided by other PMICFL departments.

Coordinates with other PMICFL departments and administration to assess requirements, identify appropriate internet technologies to meet objectives, and assist in implementation of web services.

Assists in development of policies and procedures relative to information and internet services.

Coordinates with others (Marketing, Social Media and Communications) as required ensuring the website is consistent with other print and electronic communications.

Works with individuals and departments to develop web page(s), adhering to PMICFL's design standards and brand identity.

Ensures regular testing of function and links, and updating of time-specific content.

Responds in a timely manner to questions and requests for assistance; provides professional advice and assistance to administration and constituent questions regarding the creation or revision of website pages and information.

Troubleshoots and resolves website problems in conjunction with other IT staff and 3rd party vendors.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years’ experience in the design, creation, and implementation of professional websites, or combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the requirements of the position.
  • Strong technical knowledge and demonstrated experience in relevant web and CMS template based systems.
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with web services, CMS, CRM and other database tools.

 

Compensation and other considerations

This position is a volunteer position for PMI Central Florida and offers no compensation. PDU credit may be available depending on the length of time served and volunteer credit within the organization. This position is only active under the current VP of Technology and will expire once a new VP of Technology is elected.
